My Grandmother’s Banana Bread

Banana bread has always been one of my favourites. It brings back memories of helping my gran bake. For a long time, I thought I could use any banana bread recipe and get a similar result to that of my grans. I was wrong…. very very very wrong.

I tried recipes from the internet, famous chefs’ recipes and even some from other blogs. None measured up to my grans banana bread. I don’t know why it took me so long to simply ask her for her recipe (I could have saved a lot of time if I had asked her first)

So a few days later, I arrived home to find this note:

Banana Bread

I never knew my gran only learnt to bake after she moved out of her moms. And my Great Aunt only learnt at 55!! Wow! I was lucky that my gran encouraged my mom, cause then she encouraged me.

I used a slightly smaller baking tin and baked mine for 50min since I have a fan assisted oven.

Banana bread is good on it’s own, but I love mine with some butter.
