Some days we just need chocolate with some more chocolate melted on top and some chocolate on the side. It was on one of these days we decided to bake decadent chocolate brownies. These brownies are good on their own but then we decided to add some more chocolate in the form of Twix.
For these brownies we used NoMu decadent hot chocolate. But you can’t get any or don’t have, you could use some dark chocolate which has been chopped up.
250g NoMu Decadent Hot Chocolate
200g unsalted butter
125g Castor Sugar
125g brown Sugar (we used Demerera Sugar)
4 large eggs, beaten
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1 pinch salt
Preheat your oven to 190 degrees. I use a 20 cm X 20cm square baking tin for these brownies. Grease the baking tin with butter.
Melt the butter and chocolate in a bowl over a pot of simmering water.
Stir in the castor sugar and brown sugar and let the mixture cool.
Lightly beat the eggs and Vanilla Extract and add to the cooled chocolate mixture, stirring constantly. Make sure the chocolate is cool enough otherwise you will end up with scrambled eggs in your chocolate.
Sift the dry ingredients and add them to the chocolate mixture. Mix well. Pour half the mixture into the prepared baking tin. Now spread broken up Twix all over.
Cover with the rest of the mixture. Bake for 25 minutes. If you prefer a slightly drier brownie bake for 5 to 8 more minutes.
You can add 100g of chopped nuts if you prefer but we like our brownies without nuts. You could also use any of your favourite chocolates instead of Twix.
